A lighting control solution for every LED fitting, with Zano

Picture the scene. You’re on a project, you’ve got LED products to install, and your customer wants them fitted with dimmers. You’ve got one trip to the electrical wholesalers planned to get all the gear you need to finish the job, on time and in budget. How can you get exactly what you need to dim the specific fittings you have, first time?

We’re glad you asked, because we have the answers. If you’re desperate to avoid a last-minute dash to return dimmers that don’t match with the fittings you’re installing, take a look at our list below to find the perfect dimmer for the product.

Need to dim LED panels?

LED panels come with notoriously challenging drivers, and a lot of electricians assume that you still need bespoke systems to dim them. Luckily, that’s not the case. The main thing to remember with LED panels is that you need a product that can cope with a much larger wattage than standard LED lamps, especially when you factor in an LED panel’s inrush (more on that here). You need a dimmer than can be installed quickly, without rewiring, that’s capable of carrying a heavy load, flicker-free and silently.

You need: the ZBARLED range. Available in either 0-300W/VA or 0-1000W/VA depending on the total wattage of your install (you can learn how to calculate that effectively here).

Need to dim a grid system?

When time is of the essence and you need to dim a grid system, you don’t want to discover that you don’t have the grid adaptor you need at the last minute. Zano’s grid LED dimmers come with 9 adaptors, so that you have the part you need straight out of the box.

You need: the ZGRIDLED range. Available in 0-150W/VA, 5-250W/VA and 1-10V.

Need to dim a single spotlight down to 0W/VA?

Sometimes it isn’t the large loads that are the problem. Often, very small loads – like a single spotlight in a walk-in wardrobe or small shower – can be just as difficult to pair with a dimmer. You need a dimmer that can dim seamlessly down to 0W/VA without flicker or drop out, and any of our 0-150W/VA dimmers should fit the bill. However, if you’re looking for a modular dimmer…

You need: the ZMO150.

Need to dim LED tape?

Just like LED panels, LED tape can be a real pain to dim. Heavy loads and awkward drivers make them a product most sparkies still want to avoid dimming at all costs – but you don’t have to. There is an easy way to dim LED tape, even if the total load exceeds 1000W/VA.

You need: the ZBARLED range. These dimming packs (available in either 0-300W/VA or 0-1000W/VA) can be connected together to handle any load you need.

Need to dim from more than one point?

Maybe your customer wants to dim from the top and bottom of the stairs, or from opposite ends of a large kitchen/diner extension. Or maybe they need to dim from multiple points in a function room, conference hall or lecture theatre. Whatever the load, and however many points you need to dim from, you can install multi-point dimming without a bespoke system.

You need: the ZBARLED range. Yes, it’s the ZBARLED range again (there’s a reason people call it the ‘get out of trouble’ product). A single ZBARLED can dim from up to 32 points, to control a wattage of either 0-300W/VA or 0-1000W/VA. If the load is more, or you need to dim from even more points (not sure why you would need 33+ dimming points but if you’ve ever done it, we want to know), just chain another ZBARLED pack to the installation.
