The price is right – but is the dimmer?

The price is right – but is the dimmer?

If you’re choosing your LED dimming module on price alone, it could be costing you more than you think. Here, we look at what you’re really getting for your money and how Zano prices compare.

If you still think of Zano as a ‘high end’ dimming module, you’re not wrong – unless you’re talking about price. Since we revolutionised LED dimming with our digital dimmers over a decade ago, we’ve changed our pricing to stay competitive with the rest of the LED dimming market. What we have not changed are the features and benefits that make our LED dimmers a cut above the rest.

As a result, Zano dimmers now give you a high-end LED dimming spec, at a market average price. We’re still not the cheapest, but we’re competitive and affordable.

Yet the cost of living – and working in the trades – is tough right now. When there is an opportunity to cut a few pennies from a purchase (whether it’s branded vs supermarket teabags or lamps for an installation) it can feel like the most sensible option: but is it?

Zano products are now priced in line with the other most recognisable LED dimming brands on the market. If you’re weighing up a Zano dimmer vs a cheaper or similarly priced alternative, here are some things to consider.

  • How reliable is the brand?
  • Can you get advice on lighting design and tailored product recommendations?
  • Will you get technical support on your project if it doesn’t go to plan?
  • How many lamps does it support and is it enough for your project?
  • Can you dim from more than one point if need be?
  • Can it handle large or problem loads?
  • Will your client be happy with the end result?

When you purchase a Zano LED dimmer, you’re buying much more than just the product. You’re buying technical support, product development, greater dimming capability and a much higher quality finish on your project. All for the same, or a tiny bit more, than the next dimmer on the market.

When you buy a Zano LED dimmer, this is what you’re really getting for your money:

No lamp limit

Why should your install be restricted to 10 lamps? Zano LED dimmers don’t have a lamp limit: as long as your total load is within the wattage range for the dimmer, you can add as many lamps as you want to your installation.

Technical support

Our technical team is based in the UK and on hand to give you support and guidance on your installation – whether you’re looking for advice on lighting design or help with a technical difficulty. We also have a whole host of support materials on our website, from how-to videos to an interactive product finder.

Multi-point dimming

You can offer your customer more than one dimming point – from 2 to 32, in fact – on a single circuit, straight off the shelf. Options available include the ZSMARTLED for simple 2 or 3-way multi-point dimming and ZBARLED to manage mixed or large loads or add more dimming points.

Large/problem loads

Need to dim awkward drivers like LED tape, panels or strips? Zano’s ZBAR products are the answer. You can read more about using the ZBAR range – known as the ‘get out of trouble’ dimmer by installers – here.

Product development

Zano invests in constant product improvement and development. When you purchase a Zano LED dimmer, you’re investing in the future of lighting control and a continuously improving product catalogue.

High quality dimming

Thanks to our Smart Settings, your LED dimming installation will always be flicker-free, silent and smooth, with no drop out, dead travel or visual disturbances. You can find out more about Smart Settings and how to program them quickly and easily here.
